José Maria Aznar was the President of Spain from 1996 to 2004, and currently serves as a director of News Corporation.

Throughout his time as president, José led a significant process of economic and social reform in Spain. A combination of competition policies, budget control, and public spending cuts are attributed with creating almost 5 million new jobs. Spanish GDP increased year after year during his tenure, with cumulative growth of 64% over his time in office.

He is a member of the European Advisory Panel of The European Business Awards and the European Council on Tolerance and Reconciliation. José studied law at the Complutense University of Madrid, graduating in 1975.
